The Giants released Becton (ankle) with an injury settlement Wednesday.
Becton was placed on injured reserve after injuring his ankle late in the preseason, but he will now be free to find a new home after he and the Giants agreed to an injury settlement. He will likely now pursue a reserve role with another club.

Becton turned his ankle in the Giants' preseason finale while battling for a depth line position. He's not a candidate for activation off of IR and will be done for the season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Becton has been on the Chiefs' practice squad since late October after being let go by the Lions at roster cutdowns in September. The 27-year-old is likely to serve as a depth option in his new team's offensive line rotation.

The Chiefs signed Becton to their practice squad Tuesday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
With the Chiefs dealing with a couple of injuries on the offensive line, they'll bring in Becton to add some insurance and depth, though they won't add him to the 53-man roster just yet. Becton spent the offseason with the Lions before being released at the start of the regular season.
