Analysis

I'm playing a bit of a hunch here. He's had three days of extra rest and there were no reported issues in his bullpen. The lowered velocity was a concern and he only threw 65 pitches last time, but still struck out four. Before that? 6, 7, 11 and 8 K in his previous four outings. He'll strikeout six in six innings here.

Analysis

The Red Sox offense has scored 20 runs combined in the first two games of this series but don't be surprised if pitching rules in Game 3. For Arizona, Brandon Pfaadt has been Cy Young-like since being recalled from AAA in late-June. He hasn't given up more than two runs in any of his nine starts since then, including four straight outings with zero earned runs allowed. On the other side, Payton Tolle has given up two runs or less in 6 of his last 7 outings. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4-2 type of game on Wednesday afternoon with two pitchers who are rolling right now.

Analysis

With Carlos Rodon lasting only four innings in Tuesday's win the for the Yankees, the bullpen was used plenty including pretty much all high-leverage guys, so that may matter here. Starter Will Warren (6-6, 4.42 ERA) dominated Baltimore in two early-season starts, but he was great back then. Not so much lately with a 7.71 ERA in 9.1 innings this month. The O's were hot and got back the WC race, so perhaps some urgency here on a two-game skid. Chris Bassitt is 3-1 with a 3.09 ERA at home. Very solid price at +1.5 especially with our model projecting a win.

Analysis

This looks like a good spot to fade Max Scherzer against one of the best offenses in the league. Scherzer has been showing his age and routinely finishing under this line. I’m willing to pay the hefty juice here as this line should be 14.5.

Analysis

If Kyle Freeland hits six full innings against the Dodgers in Coors Field, I'll take my loss. This is his first time pitching on normal rest in over a month, and of course the environment in Denver is never advantageous for pitchers. The southpaw has seen this line pushed up because of recent solid performances, covering this number in four of his last six and pitching into the 6th inning in one of the misses, so now we get to fade the higher number. In Freeland's two appearances vs. LA this year, he's allowed 14 runs on 18 hits in just nine total innings, failing to complete a full six innings in either. Colorado also gets a day off tomorrow to help the bullpen rest.
